About the Official Forms: This rule explains that the Florida Small Claims Rules include a set of official, approved forms for various parts of a lawsuit.

Key Points:

  • Sufficient: Using these official forms is legally sufficient to meet the court's requirements.
  • Illustrations Only: The forms are examples. You can and should modify them to fit the specific facts of your case.
  • Be Specific: The rule notes that "common counts" (a very old and vague way of pleading a case) are not enough. Your Statement of Claim must state the specific facts of your case.
