At pretrial conference or at any subsequent hearing, if there is no triable issue, the court shall summarily enter an appropriate order or judgment.
This rule gives the judge the authority to end a case early if it becomes clear there are no real facts in dispute. If, during the pretrial conference, the judge determines that the facts are straightforward and the law clearly favors one side, the judge can enter a final judgment right then and there, without the need for a full trial. This is similar to a summary judgment in a regular civil case.
